"Gang Gang Cockatoos in the Spring", Acrylic on Canvas, 500 x 600 mm
The above painting has been added recently to my Studio walls. All my work has been created from my own photographs and experiences at home and on my travels.
"Gang Gang Cockatoos in Spring" was inspired by a trip to Bright in north eastern Victoria a couple of years ago. Being a keen bird watcher I'm always tuning into the sounds of birds and one day I could hear the distinctive "rusty door hinge" like sound of the Gang Gang Cockatoos.
I located them nearby in a wattle tree. They are such pretty birds with their edged soft grey feathers and crazy hairstyles. To see them was such a highlight of my visit to the beautiful high country of Victoria.
